About Us
Our fates collided one wintery day in February 2007, when Norma sought shelter in my Uncle Tim’s garage. I scooped her up, brought her home, and she was my constant companion and greatest source of joy for nearly 19 years.
A Daydream Turned Reality
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to own "a funky little gift shop". It was just a creative daydream, until I got laid off and suddenly had the time and space to make it real. And so Norma’s Five and Dime was born — a quirky gift shop inspired by big love, small joys, and the belief that thoughtful gifts can make the world feel a little brighter.
Vision
Gift-giving is my love language. I live for that moment when you find something that’s exactly right — something that makes a person feel seen, known, and cherished.
But I also think about where gifts come from — the waste, the plastics, the mass-production, the questionably ethical “fast gifts” that are all too easy to buy. I wanted an alternative.
So I started designing and curating gifts that feel good to give and good to buy — pieces made with intention, creativity, and heart.
